![]() ![]() The Forgotten Circles and Jaws of the Lion expansions are also supported. Playing the game becomes faster, as does setup and tear down. It tracks initiative, monsters, and characters so you can focus on playing the game rather than bookkeeping. Gloomhaven Helper iswas the officially licensed companion application for playing the Gloomhaven board game, without losing the board game feel. Thanks to everyone who took the time to show their awesome game/screen setups and to send positive feedback, it has brightened many of my days. For years I've gotten little positive reminders throughout the day in the form of new app review notifications. While I'm sad that my app won't be available anymore, I've taken great pride in seeing so many people enjoy my work during the time it had. Isaac could have taken over my app for Gloomhaven and added Frosthaven or let other developers do so (one had already added Frosthaven support!) but he chose to kill it instead. In response and without any discussion, Isaac demanded that I remove his game's art and card text from Gloomhaven Helper. Later, I declined (and had never agreed to) building an app for Frosthaven – I just didn't have the free time to double my effort. ![]() I paid him and continued to improve and support my app so his players could have a high quality app for his game. In response, Isaac added licensing terms retroactively and required I pay 10% of net sales to use his game's art and card text. Desktop and web remained free, but I charged for iOS and to remove ads on Android. After adding 2 expansions, 12 languages, and supporting over 150,000 users, I felt I needed to be compensated to continue the effort. ![]() I built it for fun and gave it away free for more than a year. It wasn't a concern since I didn't intend to sell the app. When I built the app I used assets that Isaac Childres, the Gloomhaven author, provided without licensing terms. These are factual accounts of the events, not opinions. I feel that I owe it to my users to explain why the app is now gone. Users who previously purchased the app may continue to use it. The app has been removed from the Apple and Google app stores. All distribution of the app is now prohibited, including any modified versions of the app. Gloomhaven Helper is no longer available. ![]()
